call her green, for the children who’ve made her

Now that Dad has figured out that he can use the internet at my house and unlike the library, I won’t kick him off after an hour, I think I’m going to be seeing a lot more of him. Why he and Mom don’t just get internet at their house I don’t know, especially now that Dad is getting serious about researching our family’s somewhat chequered past. He left me homework for the week, which is to check out the 1911 Scottish census records for John Durham of Glasgow, Elizabeth Douglas of Aberdeen, and John Ferguson (or James Ferguson) of anywhere. Gee, that won’t be difficult. I really wish my ancestors had had more unusual names. Also, I’m supposed to see what I can find out about the Etaples Mutiny of 1917. I think I’ll start with the mutiny, that sounds like much more fun.
