“W’s reign of terror is finally over,
Obama’s pretty excellent so far.”
Indeed. I was amazed at how angry I got singing “I Feel Fantastic,” and unsurprised when I cried at “You Ruined Everything” and “A Talk With George.” And it was snowing when we got outside.
This was also brought up by one of the hecklers. I think I probably bring this up every time I go to see Jonathan Coulton (especially when he’s performing with Paul and Storm, as he was this evening) but the…enthusiasm…of the audience occasionally bothers me. I suspect they (the performers) largely enjoy it and bring it on themselves, but I am sometimes embarrassed by the overenthusiastic hecklers, and I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that their fan base is largely internet based, if that somehow changes the rules about audience involvement. Eh. I should probably stop worrying about it and just enjoy the show.
