Hanna and I are playing a wonderfully silly game where I try to repeat back to her her noises. I’m not very good at it, she’s quite the virtuoso with her gurgles and squeaks, and I just can’t get high-pitched enough, but she seems delighted with my efforts all the same.

Ryan tries to call the baby the same way he calls the cat. It doesn’t work on either of them.

I woke up super early this morning with an upset stomach. That’s hardly surprising, after all the upsets of yesterday. Still, I’m holding off on breakfast until I’m sure I’m not going to throw up. Sometimes, I’ll put Hanna in her swing and then just walk around the living room, just for the fun of seeing how long her eyes keep following me. She’s definitely mastered the ability to track a moving object across the midline of her vision, and at quite a distance too. Moving her head from one [...]

Watching Hanna try to stuff her entire fist in her mouth is highly entertaining.

The nursing bra really spoils the effect of the lace nightgown, but on the other hand, I don’t want to leak milk on my lingerie. Decisions, decisions.

Well, I survived the first day, and I did it without too many tears. My coworkers had covered my desk with streamers and bought me a bottle of Scotch, which helped a lot. I even sort of remember how to do my job, and it only took me four tries to remember how to log [...]
